Provide security to farmers by loss of crops due to low rainfall, opposite weather conditions and other natural causes such as drought, flood, waterlogging, pest-disease, natural fire, lightning, hailstorm and uneven rainfall through the Prime Minister's Crop Insurance Scheme. To insure the notified crops of the notified area, farmers will be given two percent of the sum assured for Kharif season, 1.5 percent for Rabi season and 5 percent premium for horticulture and commercial crops. The remaining premium amount will be borne by 50 percent of the Indian government and 50 percent by the state government.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Eligibility

All the farmers of the state who have sown notified crops for the notified area.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Process to Ensure the Crops

(A) The crops of the debtor farmers will be insured on the basis of crop loan sanctioning bank / co-operative society. For this, the farmer should provide his base number, Bhamashah number (if available), mobile number and crop details provided to the bank / cooperative society approving the loan.(B) Crops of non-indigenous farmers can be insured by the CHC Center. For this, the farmers will have to submit the latest land settlement of crop land, Girdavari, Aadhar card number, Bhamashah number (if available) mobile number, copy of the farmer's savings account and crop sown details.  (C) List of districtwise notified crops- ( Click here. )Details of the district-wise notified insurance company in Rabi 2016-17.

Payment of Insurance Claim                                                                                                                                                                                                          On the basis of the reduction in the yield of the farmers, the insurance company will be credited directly to the account of the insurance claim through DBT by the notified insurance company.
