J&K FARMERS VISITS PAU
LUDHIANA, JANUARY 19:
In all, 62 farmers from the district Bandhipura, Jammu and Kashmir, visited Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) as a part of the training-cum-exposure visit. Dr Ashok Kumar, Director of Extension Education, PAU, welcomed the delegation of the farmers and shed light on the role of PAU in agriculture development of Punjab, giving thrust on research and extension programmes of the University.
The Coordinator, Dr T.S. Riar highlighted the role of PAU’s Directorate of Extension Education in the dissemination of farm technologies to the farmers through short and long duration trainings, vocational trainings, field demonstrations, Kisan Melas, exposure visits, campaigns, exhibitions, etc. He also apprised the delegation of strengthening extension-farmer-marketing linkages.
The visiting farmers visited Crops Museum, beekeeping and mushroom unit, vegetable farm, kitchen garden and research hall of farm machinery and power engineering at PAU.
