AGRI VARSITY ORGANIZES TRAINING CAMP
FOR FARMERS UNDER RAWE PROGRAAME

A block level training camp under The Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) programme was organised by the final year students of B.Sc. Agri (Hons), department of Extension Education, PAU, in village Jandiali and Rampur in collaboration with the State Department of Agriculture. The students raised awareness among the farmers and farm women regarding services rendered by PAU, recommended varieties of wheat and rice, insect-pest management in wheat crop, allied enterprises such as mushroom cultivation, farmers’ portal of PAU, decision support system in potato, etc. Various extension methodologies and aids such as models, charts, posters, specimen, etc were used for information dissemination. Dr.S.S.Kukal advised the students to grab this opportunity to learn from the experiences of the farmers and at the same time equip them with scientific knowledge regarding agriculture. Dr.J.S. Bhalla motivated the students to build a strong rapport with the farm households during these 21 days and empathize with them to understand their problems and situations. Dr. Manmeet Kaur and Dr. Lopamudra Mohapatra are guiding and monitoring the activities of the students in these villages.
