PR PUNAJB AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY PAU HOLDS FRENCH LECTURE AT PAU

The Department of Agricultural Journalism, Languages and Culture, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), organized a lecture on “Study of gestures and behaviour from the Indian and European Cultural Point of View” at PAU. Faculty members and students of French courses participated in the evening session.
         Dr Cecilia Antony, Chairperson, Department of French and Francophone Studies of Panjab University, Chandigarh, was the key speaker. She said the cultural differences between the countries play a pivotal role in the interpretation of gestures and behavior of people from different countries and in the present age of globalization, it is all the more relevant to know these minor cultural differences.
        The lecture was followed by an interesting talk by Dr Charan Kamal Singh, Professor and Head at GADVASU. He shared his personal experience of his travel to different regions of France.
        On the occasion, Dr G.K. Sangha, Dean, College of Basic Sciences and Humanities, released a book “An Easy Approach to French Grammar And Communication “authored by Ms Harpreet Kaur.
      In order to entertain the audience, an exciting musical performance was given by Mr Harminder and Mr Tushar from Ishmeet Singh Academy. Later, Dr Sangha gave tokens of appreciation. Harpreet Kaur Bains, French teacher, PAU, proposed the vote of thanks.
