Pau To Hold Two-Day Workshop For Extension Functionaries Ludhiana, December 20

The “Research and Extension Specialists’ Workshop for Fruits, Mushroom, Agro-forestry along with Post-harvest Management, Farm Power and Machinery, Food Technology and Agri-Economics” will be organized at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) on December 21 and 22. The Director of Horticulture, Punjab; Joint Directors of Horticulture; Horticulture Development Officers; District Extension Specialists (Senior Most); Deputy/Associate Directors (Training) from Krishi Vigyan Kendras; and University scientists will participate in the two-day workshop.

         Giving details, Dr R.S. Sidhu, Director of Extension Education, PAU, said that deliberations will be held on various aspects of fruit science, mushroom cultivation, agro-forestry, post-harvest management technologies, agro-processing, soil and water engineering, farm mechanization, and economics of various crops. The latest technologies developed by the university will also be discussed to finalize the Package of Practices to be followed by the farmers, he told. Extension officers will provide feedback of the farmers to the scientists about the challenges being faced in the field in order to find solutions for the same, he added.
