PAU STUDENT BRINGS LAURELS AT NORTH ZONE STUDENT CONVENTION
LUDHIANA, JANUARY 23:
Ms Shivali Pathania, a Ph.D. third year student of School of Agricultural Biotechnology (SAB), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has brought laurels to the University by bagging first prize in agriculture category at AIU North Zonal Student Research Convention, held at Chitkara University, Rajpura on January 20 and 21, 2017. She qualified all the three rounds of presentations and was ranked at the top among all her competitors from North India. She has been selected for competing at AIU National Student Research Convention, to be held at Annamalai University, Chennai from March 27-29, 2017.
Dr Parveen Chhuneja, Director of School of Agricultural Biotechnology, PAU, said that Shivali is carrying out research on 'Transformation of antifungal beta-1,3-glucanase gene in rice (Oryza sativa L.) and its expression analysis for sheath blight resistance' under the guidance of Dr J.S. Sandhu, her Major Advisor.
Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor, PAU; Dr Neelam Grewal, Dean, Postgraduate Studies; Dr H.S. Dhaliwal, Dean, College of Agriculture and Dr Parveen Chhuneja, Director of School of Agricultural Biotechnology, congratulated the student and wished her all success in her future endeavors.
