Pau Kisan Mela To Feature Crop Produce Competition 01-03-2019

The PAU Kisan Mela to be held on March 15- 16 this year will feature a special ‘Crop Produce Competition’ on the first day of the Mela i.e. 15th March. Giving details about the competition, Senior Extension Specialist and Convener, Produce Competition Committee, Dr K.S. Brar said that farmers can submit the entries for the same till 11.30 a.m. on 15.3.19 at the Produce Competition Stall near Kaion Kisan Ghar. The judgement of the produce samples will start at 11.45 a.m. sharp by members of the Produce Judgement Committee and results will be declared at 2.00 p.m. sharp. The competition will include four categories of crop produce i.e. vegetables (only recommended and approved varieties), other crops, fruits (only recommended and approved varieties) and floriculture. The crops included under these categories are potato, carrot, green onion, green garlic, brinjal, radish, turnip, tomato, peas, chappan kaddu, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, cucumber, green chillies, sweet pepper and any other seasonal vegetable, sugarcane, shakkar/ gur, gram plants with pods, turmeric, ber, lemon guava, kinnow papaya and among flowers, gladiolus, cut rose, marigold, gerbera etc. There will be first and second prizes in each category. All the farmers are invited to participate in this competition.
