PAU INVITES APPLICATIONS FROM YOUNG FARMERS
LUDHIANA, JULY 3:
The Directorate of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has invited applications from the young farmers of Punjab for the three-month training course on “Integrated Crop Production,” to be held from August 1 to October 31, 2017. Young farmers, who are matriculate and in the age group of 20 to 40, are eligible for the course.
Divulging details, Dr Ashok Kumar, Director of Extension Education, said the course seeks to whet the technical skills of the farmers about agriculture. Besides, it will enable them to start their own agri-based enterprises and make their income regular, he added. Dr Kumar said the interested candidates can get the application forms from the office of Directorate of Extension Education or Kairon Kisan Ghar, PAU. The last date for the receipt of applications is July 27, he informed, while saying the interview will be held on July 28 at Kairon Kisan Ghar at 10.00 am. Dr Kumar said the candidates must bring their matriculation certificate as well as age proof certificate alongwith them. The selected candidates will have to deposit Rs 1000/- as security, which will be refunded to only those candidates, who complete their course successfully, he said. The course fee is Rs 500/- while the lodging charges are Rs 300/- per month, he informed.
