Ludhiana, April4…  The Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana has entered into agreement with tractor giant, TAFE (Tractors and Farm Equipments Ltd), Chennai and Black Stallion, Ludhiana for commercialization of the PAU Happy Seeder with Press Wheel Technology. Mr Cyril Rex Fernando, Senior Vice President, TAFE   and S. Kulwinder Singh, Managing Director, Black Stallion signed the MoA on behalf of their respective organizations. Dr Navtej Singh Bains, Director of Research, PAU, signed the agreement with the two companies and expressed hope that the happy seeder technology for managing paddy straw would not only  be marketed well by the companies, they would also help sensitize farmers towards its urgent need. “With signing of this pact with PAU, TAFE is the first tractor manufacturer to foray into paddy straw management and we are confident of its success with farmers”, said Fernando. PAU alumnus, and former faculty member, Kulwinder Singh too expressed certainty in popularizing the happy seeder for environment friendly paddy straw management.

In his remarks, Dr Manjit Singh, Head, Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, PAU, informed that the happy seeder is a low cost and sustainable solution for the management of paddy straw.
