PAU TO IMPART TRAINING TO FARMERS, FARM WOMEN AND ANGANWARI WORKERS
LUDHIANA, MAY 9:
The Directorate of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), will conduct a training course on the “Scope of Aromatic, Medicinal and Spice Crops” for the farmers and the farm women on May 12. The farm experts will provide tips on the cultivation of mentha and turmeric. Besides, experts will dwell on cultivation, processing and quality parameters of aromatic, medicinal and spice crops. In addition, focus will be on cultivation of seed spices.
Another training course on “Nutrition and Health Interventions for Malnutrition among Children, Adolescents, Pregnant and Lactating Women” will also be organized for anganwari workers on May 11 and 12. The home scientists of PAU will deliver talks on malnutrition, its causes, symptoms, consequences, prevention and management. The experts will also speak on nutrition intervention to reduce malnutrition among children, problems of adolescent girls and their remedial measures, and importance of early childhood years. Besides, experts will give demonstrations on preparation of nutritious recipes for pregnant women and lactating mothers.
