TRAINING FOR MANDI FARMERS AT PAU
LUDHIANA, APRIL 28:
The Directorate of Extension Education of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) will organize a training course on the “Production and Post-harvest Management of Fruit and Vegetable Crops” for the farmers of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, from May 1-5. The course will be held under the guidance of Dr R.S. Sidhu, Director of Extension Education.
During the course, the experts will dwell on the cultivation of capsicum, tomato and cucumber in net and poly houses. Besides, farmers will be apprised of planning and management of new orchards; latest production technologies of mango and litchi; canning of fruits and vegetables; and harvesting, grading, packaging and storage of fruits. The experts will also educate about organic farming. Apart from this, farmers will be visiting orchard, mushroom farm, beekeeping farm, floriculture farm, Food Industry Centre, Department of Processing and Food Engineering, Punjab Horticultural Post-Harvest Technology Centre and Museum of Rural Life of Punjab at PAU.
