Field Day On Happy Seeder At Kvk, Langroya, Distt S.B.S. Nagar 28-02-2019

A field day on Happy Seeder was celebrated on 28/02/2019 at KVK Langroya Distt Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar under the able guidance of Dr. Manoj Sharma, Associate Director (Trg) KVK Langroya District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. About 80 farmers attended this field day. Dr Manpreet Jaidka, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) welcomed the farmers and told the farmers about benefits of Happy Seeder. He appreciated farmers for supporting the movement against burning crop residue and bringing the district second in Punjab. He suggested various remedies to control weeds in wheat crop and shared various crop management tips with the farmers. Dr Prakash Mahala, Assistant Professor (Veg. Science) encouraged farmers to adopt cultivation of vegetables for sustainable profits in agriculture. He also appraised farmers about benefits of protected cultivation of vegetables under polyhouse, net house and low tunnel technology. Dr Tejbeer Singh, Assistant Professor (Animal Science) discussed about control of mastitis and other diseases in dairy animals. He told farmers about vaccination schedule for dairy animals. All the farmers visited the KVK farm and watched the wheat fields sown with happy seeder. Farmers put some queries about the problems faced by the farmers with happy seeder technology which were answered by Dr Manoj Sharma, Associate Director (Trg) KVK Langroya,. Dr Manoj Sharma showed the farmers various machineries available at KVK for crop residue management. He also thanked the farmers for attending this field day.
