A review of the sale of fertilizers by the public sector Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore for the period up to October this financial year has shown that the company climbed a sales peak of 96,674 tonnes during the last month. During the month of October last year, FACT achieved a total fertilizer sale of 74,503 tonnes.

The sales figures were achieved despite the serious financial problems the company facing and they have placed the company at the head of entities selling phosphatic fertilizers in South India. October this year also saw FACT having a total sales turnover of Rs. 211 crore.

The achievement comes in the wake of FACT’s record production of ammonium sulphate and sulphuric acid. The sales volumes have been achieved thanks largely to good rain experienced in the southern States during the period.

According to a communication, Tamil Nadu sales during the month stood at a total of 40,332 tonnes.
