Under TSP a vocational training programme on coconut tree climber and its plant production technology was held at KVK , CPCRI, Kasaragod from 27th November to 2nd December 2015. Fifteen identified tribal beneficiaries of Heroor village, Somavarpet Taluk, Kodagu were participated in the programme. As per their request, CHES Chettalli has purchased 15 nos of coconut tree climbing machines from CPCRI, Kasargod, Kerala. A demonstration and distribution programme was arranged at CHES Chettalli on 15-03-2016. Dr. Senthil Kumar, Head, CHES Chettalli explained about the TSP programme and the usefulness of the coconut tree climbing machines for their livelihood. Shri B. Prabhakar, SMS (Hort), KVK, Gonikoppal explained about the training details which was held at CPCRI Kasaragod. Further he appreciated the efforts of CHES, Chettalli for helping the poor people by giving the lifetime skills of coconut climbing machine for sustaining their farm income. The outcome of the trainings is the trainees can earn Rs. 1500 per day by harvesting, cleaning and its plant protection by use of low cost and efficient mechanical machine. Some of the beneficiaries shared their experience and the usefulness of the training. At the end of the programme. Dr. R. Senthil Kumar, Head (I/C), CHES Chettalli distributed the Coconut tree climbing machines to all the 15 beneficiaries. Other inputs like Citrus special, Banana special, Vegetable special and Calcium tonic for poultry birds were also distributed to them. Dr. V Sankar Dr. Venkataravanappa, Dr. Preethi, Dr. Chandrashekar, Scientists, CHES, Chettalli were present on this occasion. A demonstration of coconut tree climbing machine was made by beneficiaries at CHES Coconut garden Chettalli. Totally 25 participants including CHES contractual labours were attended the programme. Dr V Sankar   and Smt. P. B. Swathy, Technical officer were coordinated this programme.
