 Throughout the year under irrigated conditions in all districts

 Soil :
 All types of soils

 Preparatory cultivation :
 Plough 2 to 3 times to obtain a good tilth and form ridges and furrows.

 Manures and fertilizers :
 FYM : 25 t/ha
 NPK : 150 : 50 : 40 kg/ha
 Basal
   FYM –25t/ha
   NPK –75:50:40 Kg/ha
 Top dressing
   75 kg N/ha after 30 days after planting
   75 kg N/ha after each cut

 Seed rate :
 33,333  two budded stem cuttings or rooted slips per ha.
