B.Sc AGRI. STUDENTS OF PAU COME FORWARD TO HELP COTTON GROWERS
LUDHIANA, JUNE 11:
The B.Sc. Agriculture students of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) have come forward to help the farmers of the cotton belt of the state. Giving this information,  Dr S.S. Kukal, Dean, College of Agriculture, PAU, said the students of PAU are contributing to whitefly management for the last few years. During 2016-17, the PAU recommendations led to successful management of whitefly, resulting in record cotton productivity as well as saving of pesticides, he stated. This was possible due to the collective efforts of PAU scientists, students and officials of the State Department of Agriculture, he added. This year also, the students of B.Sc. Agriculture have lent a supporting hand to curb whitefly menace, which will also add to their practical knowledge, he remarked. The University has been making constant efforts to enhance the knowledge of students through theoretical as well as practical training, he said.
