An Ex Trainee Sammelen Organized At Krishi Vigyan Kendra Jalandhar 08-05-2019

An Ex Trainee Sammelen was organized on 8.5.2019 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Jalandhar, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. The occasion was graced by Dr. G.S. Buttar, Additional Director (Extension Education), P.A.U., Ludhiana. He inaugurated the technology hut made at KVK Jalandhar with the aim of making farmers aware regarding the various P.A.U. Technologies at one glance. Various scientists of KVK, FASC Jalandhar and P.A.U. detailed the farmers regarding the ongoing and upcoming problems of various crops. Dr. Rohit, Dr. RituRaj and Dr. Sanjeev briefed about the 25 days skill development training on dairy farming and bee keeping conducted at KVK Jalandhar during January to February 2019. Certificates were awarded by Dr. Buttar to all the trainees (Skill development and vocational training of Home Science). Dr. Kanchan also briefed about the importance of Home Science for women and men. On this occasion Dr. G.S. Buttar interacted with the trainees of ongoing vocational training on Home Science, Animal Science. He appreciated the efforts of KVK in conducting need based trainings for farmers. Dr. Buttar asked them to hone their skills by taking trainings and to start new small ventures along with traditional farming. He advised farmers to start subsidiary occupations at small scale initially and then gradually increase the level. He sighted the work of various progressive farmers for setting bee keeping and dairy ventures. He urged the farmers to adopt new technology in the light of keeping our environment clean and green (technologies like Happy Seeder, mulcher, reversible MB plough, baler etc.). In the end Dr. Kuldeep Singh thanked Dr. G.S. Buttar on behalf of KVK and FASC team for gracing the occasion. He detailed the farmers about the various ongoing activities of KVK (seed sale, extension trainings etc.). He advised farmers to adopt technology by first taking trainings from KVK. He thanked all the farmers for participating in the Ex-Trainee Sammelen and making the event successful.
